Principlev1
Remove competing affordances from the environment to reduce
Remove competing affordances from the environment to reduce automatic activation of unwanted behavioral patterns.
Why This Is a Principle
Derives from Action possibilities exist in the relationship between an (affordances are relational), Physical proximity and visibility of objects in an (proximity determines interaction), Organisms perceive environments not as abstract physical (perception is of action possibilities), and There is no neutral way to present choices - every (no neutral presentation of choices). This prescribes environmental subtraction as a strategy, following from axioms about how environments shape behavior through affordances.
