Raw experience, without reflection, does not produce learning.
Why This Is an Axiom
This is Dewey's foundational claim from 'How We Think' (1933) — a bedrock empirical observation about how learning actually works. It cannot be derived from other axioms in the curriculum; it IS the foundation for why reflection matters at all. The claim is empirically testable and has been validated across educational psychology.
