Principlev1
Offload structural representation and storage to external
Offload structural representation and storage to external knowledge graphs to reallocate biological cognitive capacity toward synthesis, evaluation, and creative recombination.
Why This Is a Principle
This principle is grounded in Working Memory Capacity Limit (working memory limits), Extended Cognition Thesis (distributed cognition), and Directed Attention as Depletable Resource (finite cognitive resources). It prescribes strategic cognitive offloading: given working memory constraints (Working Memory Capacity Limit) and depleting cognitive resources (Directed Attention as Depletable Resource), distribute storage and structure maintenance to external systems (Extended Cognition Thesis) so biological cognition focuses on tasks it performs best.
