Principlev1
Leaders must account for power differential amplification
Leaders must account for power differential amplification where expressed emotions become organizational signals rather than personal disclosures.
Why This Is a Principle
Derives from Emotional contagion is an automatic, pre-conscious (emotional contagion is automatic pre-conscious process) and Authority can mandate compliance but cannot mandate (authority can mandate compliance not commitment). The principle prescribes that leaders separate their internal emotional state from what they communicate, because power differential causes the audience to interpret leader emotions as data about organizational state rather than personal experience.
