Principlev1
Externalize time-based triggers through alarms or scheduled
Externalize time-based triggers through alarms or scheduled notifications rather than relying on internal time monitoring to compensate for the high cognitive cost of self-initiated prospective memory.
Why This Is a Principle
Derives from Exponential Information Decay (unrehearsed information decays), Human memory under stress and cognitive load is unreliable (memory under load is unreliable), Behavior requires an initiating signal to occur at a (behavior needs signal), and Event-based prospective memory is easier and more reliable (event-based memory is easier than time-based). This prescribes converting time-based triggers into event-based ones through external devices, following from axioms about prospective memory difficulty.
