Derives from Autonomy is the felt sense of being the author of your own (autonomy is authorship of actions) and Extrinsic motivation (reward from external recognition) (extrinsic rewards undermine intrinsic motivation). Prescribes test for whether belief change preserves autonomy: would you hold this if partner were calm? If no, it's control (extrinsic motivation) not influence (genuine persuasion that preserves autonomy).
