Build transactive memory within teams—shared knowledge of who knows what—to reduce coordination overhead by enabling efficient delegation rather than requiring consensus on every decision.
Why This Is a Principle
Derives from The mind operates as multiple semi-autonomous processes (multiple agents), Expertise as Domain-Specific Schema Organization (expertise is domain-specific schemas), and The behavior of a system arises from its structure, not from (structure determines behavior). The principle: given that coordination is costly and expertise is distributed, transactive memory enables pattern-switching from expensive consensus to efficient routing. This is prescriptive.
